Word Study: Prefixes and Root Words Matching Cards
The direct aim of the prefixes and roots word study is to help children understand that adding a prefix to the beginning of a root word alters the meaning of that word. When a child expands their knowledge of a variety of prefixes and their meanings, they increase their ability to decipher the meaning of unknown words.

The black and white and colored sets are interchangeable. Use whichever meets the needs of your students best. The colored cards act as an additional visual cue to differentiate the prefixes and roots. The black and white cards can be printed on a particular color of paper to differentiate them from other word study sets.
This set contains 112 Prefix/Root matches.
I recommend printing the materials on cardstock and laminating them for extended use.
